Lesson 16 Christ the Chief Baker for the Church

Questions 1, 2, and 3

Greetings and welcome back!
In our last lesson, we looked at “Christ The Chief Cup-Bearer for the Church.” Today, we'll see how Christ is also The Chief Baker for the Church.
By way of review we remember, while Joseph was in prison he met two prisoners - the Pharaoh's baker and the Pharaoh's cup-bearer. And according to Genesis 40, the Pharaoh's chief cup-bearer and the chief baker offended their royal master and were thrown into prison.
"Pharaoh became angry with these two officials, and he put them in the prison where Joseph was, in the palace of the captain of the guard" (Genesis 40:2-3).
"While they were in prison, Pharaoh's cup-bearer and baker each had a dream one night, and each dream had its own meaning." Genesis 40:5 (NLT)
Joseph gave his first interpretation to the chief cup-bearer which was a very positive interpretation of his dream, especially for one imprisoned and with an unknown future. Now it is the chief baker’s turn to hear share and hear his interpretation of the dream he had. I’m sure he was hopeful that he would receive the same favorable interpretation of his dream the chief cup-bearer heard of his.
“When the chief baker saw that Joseph had given the first dream such a positive interpretation, he said to Joseph, “I had a dream, too. In my dream, there were three baskets of white pastries stacked on my head. 17 The top basket contained all kinds of pastries for Pharaoh, but the birds came and ate them from the basket on my head.” Genesis 40:16-17 (NLT)
