Lesson 4 Being Repeatedly Thirsty for More or Complete Satisfaction

Question 1

Greetings friend, so good to see you back here with us today. We have a wonderful study today so let’s get right to it.
In the previous lessons, we agreed that the pleasure we find in media is temporary. Media can be enjoyable, but we also saw that it does not bring “eternal pleasures” like Jesus does (Psalm 16:11).
With that understanding as a background, we are going to begin to read an interesting story today that I believe will bring wonderful discoveries to us. I think you’ll see very clearly how this applies to our own situation in media addiction.
The story begins like this: Jesus was walking along a road and decided to go to a place called Samaria. He was tired from the journey so He went and sat down by a well, where He met a woman who had come out to get water.
Please read the beginning of this story below, and then answer the questions and provide your thoughts:
John 4:6-10 NIV  Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.  (7)  When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?"  (8)  (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)  (9)  The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)  (10)  Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

Question 1. What did Jesus tell this woman that He could give her?
