Lesson 12 Jesus Is Thoroughly Addicting

Question 1

Dear friend, so nice to see you! Welcome back to Setting Captives Free. I want you to know I’m praying for you today! I may not know you by name, but God does and I’m praying that He reaches your heart in this course and through the interaction with your mentor.
So I have a confession to make. My confession is this: I am praying that you will become consumed with Jesus rather than with media. I’m praying you will see how thoroughly consuming Jesus Christ can be, how thoroughly exciting and stimulating, how powerfully amazing, awe-inspiring, and thrilling He can be.
The reason I’m praying for this is that if we become so thoroughly in love with Jesus, we are simultaneously set free from media addiction. We’ve simply found something much better.
I once had a German Shepherd dog that used to love to chew on an old bone; in fact, he would growl at you if you tried to take it away from him. But if you took a nice, juicy steak and laid it down beside him then he would drop the bone and go for the steak every time.
Well, in a sense, Jesus is our substitute love. When we see how wonderful He is, when we begin to have experiences with Him, when He pours out His love into our hearts, we begin to drop the “bone” of media addiction because we’ve found something better, and we are set free from other things without any effort.

Question 1. According to the above statements, how are people truly set free from media addiction?
