In Isaiah 9:6, Jesus is both the “child who was born” (humanity) and the “Son who was given” (Deity--John 3:16). He is fully God in every way (Colossians 2:9), equal with the Father (John 10:30). He is both the Son of God and the “Everlasting Father” (Isaiah 9:6).

Here we see that God took Himself very low to raise you very high. Almighty God, the most important Being in the universe, made Himself nothing for you.

Again, see the depths to which God is lowering Himself for you. He has become as nothing, taking the nature of a servant. He came to this earth to serve you, to minister to you by dying to pay the ransom price of your freedom. “...the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).

Question 5. Philippians 2:8 shows the culmination of Jesus’ humbling Himself. How far did Jesus go in His humility?
