Lesson 33 Washing at the Cross: Circumcised in Christ
Questions 1 and 2
For the next few days, we’re going to look at some benefits of the cross of Christ, and how these benefits truly help us to find freedom from impurity.
One of the things that I used to wish for, even long for, when I was trapped in pornography and sexual impurity, was that I could just cut that part of my life off and leave it behind. It was the source of so much frustration to me, so much hurt and I just longed to be rid of it.
Question 1. Have you felt this way too? What was it like for you?

In today’s lesson, we are going to see that this is precisely what happened at the cross of Christ.
One of the requirements in the Old Testament was that all boys were to be circumcised on the eighth day after they were born (Genesis 17:9-14). We know that circumcision was the cutting off of the flesh, and this would be the sign that they were a covenant people and therefore entitled to all the blessings of God’s covenant family.
This circumcision was so necessary that they either had to have their flesh cut off, or they themselves would be cut off from God’s people. It was as simple as that:
Genesis 17:10 ESV This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.
Genesis 17:14 ESV Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”
Question 2. What does God say about someone who was uncircumcised?
