I know that I am genuinely washed clean from my sin only by the love, blood, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I could not accomplish this on my own! I felt so defiled and helpless and started to think my life was ruined beyond repair, but I discovered the depth of God’s grace and the power of the cross. Jesus came for me - to save and sanctify me! I could choose to wallow in my sin, or come to the cross and be healed. I chose the cross. I am free! I have deleted the things on my phone that led to my fall in the first place. I have no need of them and no plans to install them again. I also discovered that I was weak spiritually because of bitterness in my life from an offense about 4 or 5 years ago. This bitterness was festering in my life and interfering in my love for God and desire for His word. I was not feeding on the Word of God, and life seemed to be about doing stuff “for God” and not about serving God out of my great love for Him. I know I have a lot of work to do yet and many ways to grow, but I am on the right path and desire to continue. I am so thankful for this course and also for my friend Steve that did this course with me, mentored me, and was patient in leading me to the cross so I might find healing!
I recommend this course because it brings forth the life that God holds out to us. Whatever your sin is, you might feel it is hopeless, but God is interested in you. He created you, and He loves you; He knows and understands you. He wants you to find healing and freedom. The purity courses at Setting Captives Free will lead you to that freedom. It’s what you really want, even more than the cheap “thrill” of looking at immoral images that you know will leave you empty, guilty, and longing for more. Yes, it will require effort on your part, but Christ has already done the real work and secured your victory through His death on the cross. He’s waiting for you to accept it.
I can now go through my days without lustful thoughts and desires. That’s freedom! And if some temptation comes up, I now know to run to the cross for help. I love my Savior that gave me this opportunity at true life, and He wants you to come to Him too, and find the same joy that I have found. I pray you will choose the cross!”
