Lesson 2: Method of Heart Change
Questions 1 and 2
Greetings, friend, welcome back to the course.
In the Weight Loss Bootcamp course, we learned about seeking the Lord for a specific battle plan each day. God knows what's coming to us on any given day, and He has a way for us to walk through it victoriously led by His Spirit. Sometimes the battle plan looks very similar day after day, but we must not get overconfident and think we no longer need to seek the Lord in these matters.
Question 1. Have you sought the Lord to give you a plan for eating and exercising today? If so, what is the plan?

So far, we’ve seen the necessity of having ongoing heart change - a change in our thinking about food and exercise - to lose weight and keep it off. We’ve seen God’s promise to change our hearts, which happens when He gives us faith to believe the gospel and also as He continues to work in us by His Spirit (Philippians 1:6).
Please compare the two following Scriptures:
Scripture #1: “For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them” (Matthew 15:19-20)
Scripture #2: “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified” (John 7:38-39).
Question 2. What do you see as the difference in the two “hearts” mentioned in these passages?
