Fran is growing in her understanding as she writes the following in answer to the above question:
"Psalm 16:11. Walking with Jesus is most joy filled experience I can have. Pleasure of sin only lasts a moment, it's temporary, an we repeat it. Pleasure that never ends is eternal pleasure. Hebrews 1:3 Jesus is at God's right hand. We experience eternal pleasure in Jesus. We are to walk in the path of life, walking with Jesus and we are filled inwardly with pleasures never end. The pleasures is at God's right hand, where Christ is seated. Be in the Word, experience the power of God's Spirit."
When it comes to losing weight, we need a greater power than our own will power. We need supernatural spiritual power, and this is precisely what we have in the Holy Spirit, whom we receive as we come to the cross.
This divine power overcomes our weakness, crucifies our flesh, and sets us free from the law of sin and death. “...through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2 NIV).
Today we are going to really look into the Holy Spirit and His power and see how He so mightily transforms us, and then tomorrow, we are going to see a wonderful illustration of this very transforming power.
Please read the following passage of Scripture:
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another” (Galatians 5:16-26).
